The HypnoBand was originally created and developed by John Maclean. While seeing many clients for weight loss therapy John realised that for those clients who had a high Body Mass Index (BMI) regular weight loss hypnotherapy was not enough.
The concept of gastric band hypnotherapy had been around for some time but John felt that what was needed was an integrated system that analysed and dealt with the client’s emotional and psychological reasons for over-eating.
After many months of research and development the HypnoBand was born and today it has become the world’s most used gastric band hypnotherapy system available through our network of Licensed Practitioners (over 1500) in 45 countries.
Our Practitioners come from all walks of life but have two things in common. They are all qualified and dedicated hypnotherapists and they all CARE! They care about YOU, the client, and their aim is to help you achieve your goal of effective and sustainable weight loss!
Today the HypnoBand business, associated trademarks and copyright is wholly owned by HypnoBand International Limited following John Maclean’s sale of the business in 2019.
The directors of HypnoBand International, Paul and Joan Lee, intend to further develop the business with many new and exciting additions that will come on stream during the next few years.
Paul holds a MSc (Psych) as well as a BSc (hons) and has been in practice since 2009. He is also a professional CBT practitioner and is currently working on a new ‘cognitive weight loss’ programme as an alternative product alongside the HypnoBand system.
Joan is currently an undergraduate student following a British Psychological Society accredited degree in Counselling with Psychology and is currently in her second full year.
